What Two Years Of The Pandemic Has Done To You?
and how we flourish in the years to come
It’s been two years since I spilled my breastmilk on the Park‘N’Go bus and called my husband to let him know I was done commuting to work. Little did I know that a work email was waiting for me to inform me that Covid-19 pandemic was real and that I needed to stay home in the meantime while we proceed to flatten the curve. This curve they said would take two weeks to flatten and life would go back to normal.
Since Friday, March 13, 2020, our world as we knew it changed. 3.5 million working mothers have been forced out of the workforce, 1.4 million mothers are yet to return due to the increased demand of caregiving and the inflexible nature of work, coupled with the complete lack of social safety net and infrastructure for working families.
As we approach the two year mark, its important to reflect on what has changed and how women and families can flourish in a post-pandemic world. Join me and the amazing Amy Nelson of The Riveter, Pooja Lakshmin of Gemma, Hitha Palepu of 5 Smart Reads, and Brigid Schulte of New America as we discuss the crushing effects of the last two years on women’s health, finances, confidence, career, and relationships. Come with your stories and how you’ve weathered through these unprecedented challenge. Let’s heal collectively, together.
This is also a great place to remind you that our membership is currently open at Mother Honestly for $95/YR, that is less than $8 to access unlimited resources, toolkits, guides, and a network that supports you back.
