Phew Mama!
If you are like me, you are wondering “how did we get here?” And how is it that we are still figuring this out? I read somewhere that parents are being asked to become substitute teachers and that got me really worked up this week.
Holiday. New year. Back to school. Back to work. Get sick. Kids get sick. Stop work. Nurse kids back to health. Start work. Kids are hungry. Laundry. Meals. Special needs.
All of this and more are probably amongst the many ways you’ve been pulled in multiple direction in the last few weeks.
So let’s start the week with a simple question: how are you feeling?
I’ll go first: I have four kids at home, the baby is constantly breastfeeding, the two toddlers (ages two and four) started school again last week and I am back to chauffeuring back and forth various drop-off and pick-up locations for classes, after school activities and birthday parties. My eldest starts a new school next week and we are holding our collective breaths that her covid test comes back negative. Luckily they all appear healthy after our bout with covid two weeks ago where despite locking down for four weeks during the holiday, we still contracted the virus and had to lock down again another two weeks. My mental health took a nose dive, and to make matters worse, hubby flew out of the country which means I am in single parenting mode for a while. I am sending all my love to all single parents, how are you all doing for real?
So, let me pause here and ask you how you are feeling? Are the kids back at school? Are you back at work? This newsletter has been designed to be short because I want to hear from you. Let’s chat in the comments.

Hi Blessing,
I am feeling just ok. I feel the pandemic has pull me to a thin thread. Between getting the notices from my children’s school about someone in their class having Covid and worrying about food shortages due to the supply chain, I’m constantly waiting on the other shoe to drop. It’s been a real roller coaster of emotions. I’m thankful that we are all healthy at the moment.
I am not feeling too great ,my son isn't back to school yet due to insufficient funds and I am out of a job now, still searching for job . Having to worry over shortage of food, because I can't afford it. I am grateful that he is healthy and I am of sound mind.
